About a year ago I went to one of my favorite little shops here in town for a much needed Girl's Night Out. Perhaps you know the place,
If you haven't been there, you are missing out and I suggest you travel on over there right after you finish reading this! There are so many delicious delicacies to choose from! And not just sweets either; they have soup, sandwiches, and salads that are amazing. This particular night I was introduced to the RUM BALLS!
Heaven!
Before that night I didn't know how deeply my love for Rum and Chocolate truly ran. After that first taste I began thinking of my mom who also loves the flavor of rum. Her birthday was coming up and I wanted so badly to make her a chocolate cake (using Grandma Mary's delicious recipe) with rum frosting (that I used on Tressa's wedding cake, mmmm!), and then decorate it with these most delightful rum balls. Sadly, I was pregnant and HUGE and by the time this little angel finally showed up, we were into June and my energy was gone.
No cake for mom.
Enter Charlotte.
She turned the magical 40 this year and has a love of chocolate. I agreed long ago to make her a chocolate birthday cake if we could get together and celebrate. Well, tonight is the night! I was so excited, but kept forgetting that it would probably be a good idea to call ahead and make sure there were rum balls available at Sweetly Divine. So, being the planner that I am,I called this afternoon around 1pm.
Guess what?
No rum balls!
I almost cried
Then, the magical moment: this wonderful owner (who is one of the nicest people I've met) told me he would make some for tomorrow. Ok, I can do that. Then it gets even better. He tells me he's got enough stuff to make a few TODAY!
Really? You'd do that for me?
And he did.
Made my whole day.
So, not only is Sweetly Divine the most delicious place for scrumptious treats, soup, sandwiches, and salads (seriously folks, it will knock your socks off!), but to top it all off, the owner of this fine establishment is extremely kind, thoughtful, and accomodating.
My house smells so good right now!
I can't wait for tonight!!!
