This year Halloween was nice. It seemed that I took it at a slower pace than normal, so I was only "mostly dead" the following morning. I saved just enough energy to finish a cake, move a family to a new apartment, and clean up the house. Can I have a wonderwoman award now? Hee hee seriously, though. We went to Kaylee's school in the morning for a costume parade. After school I took the kids to Lee's Marketplace for the trick-or-treat while I did my shopping. It made the trip much more enjoyable for all. We also went to Papa Murphy's where the kids got their own personal size pizzas for lunch. At the crosswalk they enjoyed playing Star Wars. Afterwards, we went to see Donna at work and the kids thought that was pretty cool. Next stop, Dad's work for some awesome trick-or-treating! That night we went to our "tri-ward trunk-or-treat." In case you were wondering, I'm NOT a fan of those. I thought about posting more on this issue and then decided against it due to possiblity of offense. Thanks, Donna and Steve for coming for the kids! They loved seeing you there! Next up, dinner party at our house. My brother and his wife, my sister and her husband, and our good friends, Alton and Shirley joined us. We had pizza, salad, breadsticks, homemade rootbeer, donuts, cider, and egg nog. Yum! Then we played a rousing round of BANG! before all had to depart. It was a lot of fun!
Here are some fun pictures of the kids' costumes, our party, and a few cakes I made.... enjoy.

These are pictures of the kids at a Monster Bash at Kaylee's school. I thought they were hilarious!

Darth Vader and Princess Leia. So cute! And Uncle Jake the jedi. My kids' favorite uncle and the instigator of Star Wars at our house.

I made this cake for my friend's son. His birthday was a couple weeks ago and they had a Halloween costume party. This was one of my funnest cakes to make!
This cake is the one I made the day after Halloween.

i love your kids costumes! so cute! glad you had an eventful halloween. and your cakes...AWESOME! you are quite talented!
Wow your cakes are amazing!!! And we like the game BANG, too!! Sounds like you guys had a fun, busy day!!
I love the cake!! You are hired the next time I need a cake. What cute costumes too!
Love the kids costumes and so impressed by the cakes! You are very talented!! Do you really not like trunk-or-treats? Outside of Utah they are the greatest! We have a safe neighborhood, but I would still never let my kids knock on any of the doors, and we have no family here - so without it, my kids wouldn't get to trick-or-treat at all! Sorry, I guess you get my opinion wether you ask or not! :) Glad it was a fun Halloween!
Camille - you asked about our photographer, do you mean our family pictures, or our wedding pictures? Our family pictures were taken by Melissa Webb Plowman - yes from High School. Oh yeah, she did take Kelly's too - that must be what you meant :)
CUTE cakes!!! I love them! I just did a caterpillar cake for Ty's first birthday. It's the first "different" cake that I've ever made and I think it turned out pretty well. I'll post it on my blog soon. Your kids were adorable!!
P.S. Yes, we need to talk soon!!
I am so with you on being anti- trunk or treat (especially that tri-ward one). We didn't have a great experience with it. One year we showed up 5 min. late and it was over. Next year it was too cold outside so they did it in the gym and it was sweltering with all those people. Even under good circumstances I didn't get to see the ward kids that I wanted to see. I really LOVED the ward party that Emily did last year though. I guess I just have fond memories of knocking door to door as a kid (and yes, it was to complete strangers sometimes) I guess its a different world but we are also TOO paranoid also!!!!
luv, Melissa
p.s. Loved the cakes- you are very talented!
WHOA - I love that spider cake!!! Oh, and I'll give you the Wonder Woman award. I haven't posted any of my halloween pics yet - guess I should get busy with that. I really love the pic of Charles as Yoda. It's priceless.
I want to add mine to the praise on the cakes! They are amazing...are you free next year around September 15th for a 1st birthday party???? Pencil us in! I'm not sure what Preston will like yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's dinasaurs or wild animals. :)
You are a fantabulous cake decorator Camilly! I wish you lived here so I could have you make all the future cakes. Better yet, if we lived close you could attempt to teach me all you know! Keep posting pics of the cakes you do...incredible!
