Yesterday Kaylee turned seven. All day I kept thinking that she was turning six. I was completely baffled. In fact, I had to really sit down and think through all the years and look at some pictures just to make sure that she really was seven. I feel old. Despite the fact that it snowed ALL day, and she had to spend most the day at school, I think she enjoyed herself. Louis got up and made her "breakfast cake." One of her favorites (and mine, too!) At school she was line leader all day and got a special birthday badge to wear. I took over some doughnuts for her to share with her class. Grandma and Grandpa picked her up from school and she had lots of fun things to show us. Her teacher had made a special birthday poster and put together a gift bag for her. For dinner she chose A&W and we all headed over. Grandma, Grandpa, Tressa, Squirmy, Donna, Steve, me, Louis, and Charles were all there with Kaylee.

After dinner we headed over to Kaylee's school. She had a dance night that she wanted to go to. It was a little crazy and very crowded, but she did a great job and we enjoyed seeing her dance. The first dance she had to dance with a boy and they did some turns and everything. Very fancy!

She was so excited to get back home and open presents! And man, was she spoiled! She got some very nice gifts from everybody and we really appreciate the thoughtfulness. She has been having a lot of fun looking over all her new things. Charles was really cute this year. He knew just what he wanted to get her... a peagusus he had seen at Magical Moon Toys. She loved it. He was really having a hard time this year watching her get new things and he kept asking if he could have a present. Thanks to Grandma, he did get a little something. We decided it was time for a new bike. Her old one was worn out and just a bit too small. It was wierd going to buy a big bike for her. I could hardly believe that it would really fit her. But it does! It even has ladybugs on it.

For her cake this year, she requested a plain white cake with white frosting and flowers. Perfect! It was very easy and yummy, and I tried to make it as fancy as possible. She loved it. On accident I even put seven pink roses! I was devastated when I realized I didn't have any candles. But Louis was ready with matches. It was very interesting, and we did some quick singing! The smoke afterward was awful!!!

Happy Birthday, Kaylee!!!! I love you so much and I am so amazed at how quickly you have grown up and by all the things you are learning.

Here are some pics of her out riding her new bike today. The weather was kinda warm, well, not freezing, and the driveway was finally cleared of snow and ice.
I was looking through some old photos of Kaylee and trying to pick some to put up as a "looking back" kinda thing.... there are way too many! I should've just made a slide show, or picked fewer, but I didn't. There were a ton more pictures I would've liked to include, but I don't have a scanner and didn't have a digital camera until she was like three or so. But, for any who are interested, here is a little walk down memory lane of some of Kaylee's accomplishments/highlights from the past seven years.
Kaylee has lived in five different homes.... all here in Logan!
I have no digitals of her as a baby... the first two are around four and six months.
At 18 months, Kaylee and I went on a three week trip with my family back east. She was pretty well behaved considering all the places we took her and all the hours we spent in the car! I can't remember how many states we went through, but I want to say that after this trip she had been to over twenty.
Uncle Jonathan came home from his mission and married Danielle in California.
Kaylee saw it snow in June!
Kaylee got a new baby brother when she was two. She loved him from the start and would spend a lot of time sitting by him playing. I loved to watch them together.
Kaylee and Amanda
Uncle Daniel came home from his mission in Brazil and we took him up to school.
That fall we met our soon-to-be Uncle Jake
Aunt Tressa married Jake here in Logan. Kaylee was in heaven with all the wedding stuff.
