We went down to my mom's for Easter/Conference weekend. It was nice to be all together (minus Zach, of course). Tressa and I decided to have an egg hunt for the kids. I think this is the first time I've done one for them. They had a blast. Then Jake and Tressa were wonderful and dyed eggs with them in the afternoon. Another activity I usually don't do. They loved it. It was so funny to watch them looking for their eggs, they each had certain colors assigned to them. Tressa was a tricky hider, especially for Kaylee!
I failed to get any pictures of them on Easter morning, but that's ok cuz I don't get them new outfits or anything and since it was Conference, they stayed in pjs most of the day. Kaylee got a new activity book to help her learn about what baptism is and Charles got a CTR ring (he's been begging for one) and a Helaman action figure. His favorite guy is Captain Moroni, but they didn't have a small one in the store. Oh, well. We found a duck pez and a hollow candy duck for Squirm. He just sat and played with it for the longest time before Charles finally convinced him to bite and once he did, oh boy! He really liked it! Lily got a butterly dress that Charles helped pick out. Hopefully it will warm up so she can wear it! I can't believe I don't have any pictures of Lily from this weekend! Aack! But, come to think of it, whenever she was with us, I was generally holding her, so that's probably why. There is nothing greater than snuggling a sleeping newborn and watching conference. Aaah.
Grandparent's weekend:
In March both my grandmothers celebrate their birthdays. And Louis' grandmother celebrates hers the first part of April. We usually get a chance to go up and spend some time with all three of them since they are all in Idaho Falls. This year we went up on Gma Eva's 92nd birthday. The family had a little open house for her and so we got a chance to visit with aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was great. Our first stop was to see Gma Gray, but she was not feeling very well, so we decided pictures would wait this time. We got her some soup and visited for a bit. Kevin and his kids were there and it was fun to catch up with them. We tucked Grandma in and let her get some rest. Then it was time to head to the birthday open house.

I'm not sure who made this.... but it's our family tree. Pretty cool!

No trip to Idaho Falls is really complete without dinner at Smitty's! So we hooked up with Tressa and Jake and took Grandma Mary for her birthday dinner, and Grandpa came too!

After dinner we headed back to Grandma's and Grandpa's for some pinochle. It went well for Louis and me!

You may remember from our last dinner here that Charles choked on his bacon.... this time around I encouraged him to order something else. I was really proud of him. He got a burger, fries and jello and ATE IT ALL! It's been a while since he's sat still that long and eaten his food. Yay! The only incident we had was Jake making a silly hat and all the goofy boys taking turns wearing it.

Squirmy is walking! He is so funny to watch do this! He's very careful.
Random stuff:
My crazy kids. When the weather was teasing us and making me think it would soon be Spring, I went out and bought a huge box of sidewalk chalk for the kids. They have loved it! They decided on this particular day it would be more fun to draw on their faces....
The other night we had waffles and strawberries for dinner, MMmm, one of my favorites. While Louis and I were chatting and getting things ready, Kaylee sat and cooked the waffles for us! I was so impressed!
President's Day
We decided last minute to venture down to see my parent's on President's Day since we all had the day off. Louis wanted to go get some running shoes at the Salt Lake Running Company, so this was a good opportunity, plus, we missed out on our Valentine's dinner and I had a giftcard to Outback burning a hole in my pocket, so off we went. The kids wanted to go bowling with grandma and grandpa, and so we did. They are so much fun to watch! I sat out this time since I was carrying a bowling ball in my stomach.

Kaylee got a little bored waiting for her turns, so she took my camera and got some great pics!

The final scores.... Charles always amazes me! He was so excited to beat Grandma!

Tressa and Squirm happened to be down that day doing some shopping in Provo, so she offered to pick up our kids and take them to her house while we went to dinner in Layton to save us some driving. It was very nice. The kids love going to their house. Jake had found some rock candy. They really look like rocks, but it's chocolate. So cool. I'd love to do some fun kind of cake or dessert with it. That is what the kids are eating. They kept saying, "Mom, take a picture of me eating rocks!"

It sounds so fun! What a fun family!
super long post - and I loved it! maybe I should get around to blogging again - I might feel like we actually do something around here :)
BTW - I noticed that you cropped your baby belly out of the picture of you, Louis and your grandma. Don't think I didn't. And I will tell you again - it's so unfair!
I was also noticing how there was only one picture of you. Now, I know you might feel big, but you MUST take pictures of yourself, pregnant or not. I hope you are, even if you're not putting them on your blog. Your kids will someday want pics of you (and so will you). So, don't forget to catch your stages, along with your kids. Love ya. Oh, and when are we going to 'hang out'????
So, I am surprised you don't usually dye eggs or do Easter egg hunts. Do you have a different tradition that you do instead?
